Filippo Iarrera has several professional experiences between Africa and Latin America, both in developmental and humanitarian settings.
After his graduation, he started working for UNDP Somalia where he produced a socio-economic study on the impact of the Civil War on the Somali population.
After a brief experience with the European Parliament Bureau in Milan where he coordinated an advocacy project aimed at the public sensitization on EU Institutions and legislation processes, he joined the United Nations Fund for Population (UNFPA) in Sudan as an external relations officer. During his capacity he also coordinated and assisted in the formulation of several projects both in Darfur and in other regions of the country. With that experience he then served as a Junior Professional Officer (JPO) financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with UNFPA Peru where he worked on Emergency Preparedness and Response as well as in Resource Mobilization, especially in the aftermath of emergency in central Peru caused by the Earthquake on August 2007.
